Automatic Batch Interaction
This can monitor text variables which have their Batch Tag property set, and will set elapsed time (T) to zero whenever the batch variable is given a value to start a batch.
To see elapsed time (T) enable Show elapsed time X axis on the Time Axis & Gridlines tab.
Note that the Path to save JPG files for Trend Charts is separate from the path that is used when choosing Print to JPG to print the whole screen from the File menu.
As of SpecView build 3.1.257 JPG files produced at the end of batches can be stored locally on Remote PCs when the Path to Save JPG files is pointing to a network drive.
This is to prevent Remote PCs from replacing the JPGs produced by the Local PC on a network drive.
For instance, there is a Local PC that is connected to instrumentation and is running a batch.
At the end of the batch, if the Auto Save on batch end to JPG is selected, SpecView will save a screenshot of the GDW with the Trend Chart and save it to the desired location specified in Path to save batch JPG files.
This desired location can be a network drive.
So, the Local PC will save its screenshot to the network drive.
Now, when a Remote PC logs in to the Local, it will have a copy of that GDW with the Trend Chart.
The Trend Chart will have the exact same Automatic Batch Interaction settings and will save its copy of the screenshot on the network drive as well.
So, if a Remote user logs in to the Local sometime during a batch run and fails to log out before the end of the batch, then the Remote will also produce a screenshot and save it on the network drive.
The Remote's screenshot will overwrite the existing screenshot that the Local would have created moments ago.
Also, the Remote's screenshot will contain incomplete batch information as the Remote was only started after the batch began.
Therefore, the Remote's screenshot will be missing information about the start of the batch.
To prevent this, follow the steps below.
The steps are to be executed on the Local PC.
1. | Exit SpecView. |
2. | Navigate to the Project Folder. |
3. | Open the file Settings.INI. |
4. | Find the [Trend] section. |
5. | In the [Trend] section type the following command, "RedirectRemotePaths=Y". |
6. | Save the file. |
7. | Open SpecView and navigate to the project. |
Screenshots created on the Remote PCs by Automatic Batch Interaction will now be saved locally.
The screenshots can be found in the Remote PCs Project Folder, under a subfolder called Remote Trends.
