The meaning of these messages are detailed below:
M2000: This is the install code for the NEW computer:
When moving a license from one computer to another, the OLD computer generates a code that transfers the license to the new computer. This is the code from the old computer and needs to be typed in as a new license code at the startup screen of the NEW computer.
W2001: There are currently outstanding license operations, please complete these before moving the license.
It is not possible to move a license from one computer to another unless all outstanding license operations have been completed. This message indicates that some form of interaction with the License Server is still outstanding. Please contact SpecView to resolve this issue before moving the license.
W2002: This is not a soft license, to move the license, move the hardware dongle.
For USB License Dongles, exit SpecView, move the dongle to the new computer and run SpecView. The old computer’s SpecView will run as a Demo once the dongle has been moved.
No license has been installed yet, the software is operating in Demo mode, so there is no license to move from this computer
W2004: Please note that proceeding to move this license from this computer WILL DISABLE THIS LICENSE immediately.
Please be ready with the new computer before you proceed.
Do you wish to move the license off this computer now?
This is a warning that once the license move code has been generated, this copy of SpecView will be converted into a demo license. Please be sure that the new computer is ready, with SpecView installed before attempting to move the license from this computer.
Please type YES into the box below to move the license and disable this SpecView.
Note that this copy of SpecView will become a 10-minute demo if you do this.
See above
M2006: Enter 'Move Code' from old computer

W2007: PC hardware has changed significantly since original license activation, RE-activation of SV is required within XXX days
This indicates that a large hardware change has been detected. This can occur for a number of reasons:
1) | The SpecView folder has been moved from one computer to another without doing the correct License Move procedure. Please see this section for full details of how to correctly move a license. |
2) | New hardware has been installed in the computer and Re-activation of the license is required. Please go to Help->Registration Information and click the ‘RE-Activate’ button at the bottom. |
3) | If the hardware has not changed, yet this message is shown then please contact SpecView. |
M2008: PC hardware has changed slightly, re-activation of SV is advised (via a Check-in).\n Do you want to schedule a check in now?
This indicates that a small change to hardware has occurred, e.g. changing or adding a network card. This copy of SpecView needs to communicate to the SpecView License Server to register this change. This is done by a ‘check-in’ process. Go to Help->Registration Info and click the ‘Check in’ button at the bottom. Note that this kind of check-in requires an interaction with SpecView personnel to check the license details, so it must be done by eMail or telephone.
M2009: Please go to Help->About SpecView and click the [Check-In] button at the bottom to perform a check-in
