Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Note: Driver Currently fixed at 8 Databits, No Parity, 1 Stop Bit

Format is one of:

 AA

 AA:TTL                (Colon to separate)

 AA;Password                (Semicolon to separate)

 AA;Password:TTL        (Semicolon first, Colon second)

Where:

AA:        Two digit address of the Unit (Area) in decimal, or 00 for the HGM200 controller

TTL:        Time to Live setting in seconds - See notes below

Password:        A password for this HGM - See notes below

Examples:

00                (The HGM200 controller itself)

01                Unit Area 01 (First Area in HGM200 main unit)

11                Unit Area 11 (First Area in first PEM800 attached)

01:10                Unit Area 01, TTL of 10 seconds

Invalid addresses are 08,09,10,19,20,29,30,39 and above

Notes:

The TTL controls how often the HGM is interrogated.  If left out, the TTL is 90 seconds.  The HGM200 returns ALL it's data in one message, even though SpecView requests each item separately.  The TTL specifies that SpecView gets all it's values from the one request until that request is TTL seconds old, at which point the actual message is re-requested from the HGM200.

Since the TTL can be specified for each UnitArea and the CPU, the lowest of all those supplied is used.

Password:  If a password is used, then all instruments defined in SpecView must have this set to the same thing.  The HGM200 does not check the passwords at the present time (!).
