Upgrading (Definition: Adding a new option to a license):
SpecView's license may be Upgraded at any time; this means adding, removing or changing options within the license, such as adding the Historical Replay option or renewing the Update Subscription.
Upgrading Overview:
SpecView Version 3 supports both Soft Licenses and USB License Dongles.
For new purchases Soft Licenses are now the standard (USB dongles can be requested at an additional charge).

For Upgrades for both soft licenses and USB dongles the procedure is:
| A. | Send PO# and the option(s) required and the dongle serial number to a SpecView representative. |
| B. | the SpecView personnel will then change the license on the License Server and inform you when it is ready for retrieval by the SpecView software. |
| C. | Retrieve the Upgrade without needing to contact SpecView personnel either by: |
| i. | Instantly without any codes IF the computer has an Internet connection. |
| ii. | By using codes which can be entered into the: www.specview.com/code.html webpage on another computer or smart-phone. |
The advantage is that both A and B can be done well in advance and do not require SpecView personnel to be available at the time of the upgrade.
