An update is where the SpecView code is updated to introduce new features and functionality, or to fix bugs.
In general is it always best to update to the latest build of SpecView, especially if you are encountering any problems.
However, SpecView operates an Update Subscription mechanism that may mean you are not able to update the software. See here for details.
